To go along with what Ammon reported earlier in regards to the MASTERS OF HORROR series, Fangoria reports that Billy Corgan, former lead singer of (and soon to be reforming) The Smashing Pumpkins, will score Tobe Hooper’s DANCE OF THE DEAD installment. Corgan who previously contributed music to Rupert Wainwright’s STIGMATA (who is now filming THE FOG remake), debuted his first solo album, THEFUTUREEMBRACE, this summer (not as good as his stuff with the Pumpkins, but still pretty cool). Creator/producer Mick Garris says that “[DANCE OF THE DEAD is] a very extreme
episode, and I expect the music will
be pretty hard-hitting.”
Scripted by Richard Christian Matheson and based on his father’s 1954 story, DANCE OF THE DEAD is a postapocalyptic tale in which reanimated corpses are used to entertain the living in a bizarre cabaret. Jessica Lowndes, Jonathan Tucker and Robert Englund are set to star.
MASTERS OF HORROR will air weekly on Showtime beginning October 28, and will hit DVD from Anchor Bay Entertainment (I love these guys) beginning in February 2006. You can check out the series’ trailer on the official site.
