I keep waiting for The Horror Channel to be available in my neck of the woods, but even with Direct TV, I’m still not able to gain access to it- the bastards. But no worries, as Lionsgate, Sony Pictures and Comcast are grouping together for their own horror cable channel called FEARNET, a channel solely devoted to horror movies on demand, along with internet programming as well. Awe-some!
Since Lionsgate and Sony own quite a large number of horror titles, it only makes sense that they’re teaming together to showcase their movies. That’s right- 100% horror movie 99% of the time. And I say 99% because they’re said to have original programming, like something called MASTERS OF FEAR, which will be directed by horror film directors… wait, for some reason, that sounds familiar and not all that original…
This was all announced via , and here’s the best part of what the new channel will have in store for us: Because of content and ratings concerns, Comcast intends to apply parental controls to the channel’s edgier content.
