Abhi Sinha joins the cast of James Wan’s The Conjuring 2

James Wan's sequel to his 2013 hit THE CONJURING has already been filming for around seven weeks now, but that doesn't mean they can't still make casting announcements. The latest actor revealed to be in the cast of THE CONJURING 2: THE ENFIELD POLTERGEIST is Abhi Sinha, whose previous credits include THE SOCIAL NETWORK, IN TIME, and the ABC Family series Chasing Life.

Patrick Wilson and Vera Farmiga are reprising their roles as married paranormal investigators Ed and Lorraine Warren in the sequel, and the Warrens will be receiving some back-up from fellow investigators Maurice and Anita, played by Simon McBurney and Franka Potente. Sinha's character is Maurice and Anita's assistant Harry Whitmark.

THE CONJURING 2: THE ENFIELD POLTERGEIST centers on

the mother of a girl who is experiencing a haunting and desperate for help.

That mother is being played by Frances O’Connor, with Madison Wolfe, Lauren Esposito, Patrick McAuley, and Benjamin Haigh as her children. Also in the cast are Maria Doyle Kennedy and Simon Delaney.

Wan wrote the screenplay with returning writers Chad and Carey Hayes, with David Leslie Johnson then coming on board to do a rewrite. The company behind the film, New Line Cinema, must have been impressed with Johnson's work, because they then hired him to script a fresh reboot of A NIGHTMARE ON ELM STREET.

THE CONJURING 2 is set to reach theatres on June 10, 2016, and is one of my most highly anticipated releases of the year. The sequel could just be all about Wilson and Farmiga's Ed and Lorraine having a conversation, MY DINNER WITH ANDRE style, and I'd be happy to get it, I enjoyed those characters so much the first time around.
