Awoken trailer mixes supernatural forces and terminal insomnia

Writer/director Daniel J. Phillips' supernatural thriller AWOKEN doesn't yet have a U.S. release date, but while we wait to find out when we can see the movie we've gotten our hands on a trailer that will help you decide just how badly you want to see it.

The story centers on a

young medical student who attempts to cure her brother from a terminal sleep illness called Fatal Familial Insomnia, where you are unable to sleep until you die. On her quest to help him, a more sinister reason for his condition is revealed.

The film stars Erik Thomson, Benson Jack Anthony, and Sara West.

AWOKEN looks to me like it could be a decent fright flick. We'll keep an eye on it and let you know when the distribution plans are announced.

The poster can be seen below, and it sports a tagline that is strongly associated with a popular horror franchise that deals with deadly sleep issues…

Awoken
