Blumhouse announces new Halloween movies: Halloween Kills & Halloween Ends!

UPDATE: Jason Blum has confirmed that Danny McBride, David Gordon Green and John Carpenter are all returning for these two new movies. David Gordon Green will direct both films. HALLOWEEN KILLS is written by Green & Danny McBride & Scott Teems and HALLOWEEN ENDS is written by Green and McBride along with Paul Brad Logan and Chris Bernier.

Recently we passed along word that it looks like Blumhouse’s HALLOWEEN 2 is gearing up to start shooting after Labor Day with Jamie Lee Curtis returning as Laurie Strode! And today Blumhouse has officially announced 2 new HALLOWEEN films are heading our way, HALLOWEEN KILLS and HALLOWEEN ENDS.

HALLOWEEN KILLS hits theaters on October 16, 2020, and then HALLOWEEN ENDS hits on October 15, 2021.

Judy Greer and Andi Matichak are expected to return as well. Malek Akkad will produce alongside Blum and Bill Block. Danny McBride will likely return to executive produce alongside Green, Curtis, John Carpenter, and Blumhouse’s Couper Samuelson.

Here's the synopsis for the recent flick

It's been 40 years since Laurie Strode survived a vicious attack from crazed killer Michael Myers on Halloween night. Locked up in an institution, Myers manages to escape when his bus transfer goes horribly wrong. Laurie now faces a terrifying showdown when the masked madman returns to Haddonfield, Ill. — but this time, she's ready for him.

HALLOWEEN (2018) was directed by David Gordon Green from a screenplay he co-wrote along with Danny McBride and Jeff Fradley based on characters created by John Carpenter and Debra Hill. Malek Akkad, Bill Block, and Jason Blum produced the film which stars Jamie Lee Curtis, Judy Greer, Andi Matichak, Will Patton, and Virginia Gardner. John Carpenter also provided this new movie's score with the help of his son Cody Carpenter and Daniel Davies.
