Chance the Rapper and Zazie Beetz star in horror comedy Slice

Slice Zazie Beetz Austin Vesely

Distributor A24 has released a teaser trailer for director  Austin Vesely's horror comedy SLICE... and it's one of those teasers that really lives up to that name, because it tells you absolutely nothing about the film. From watching it, all you get is that the movie has something to do with pizza, a delivery person, and a creature with claws.

I had to look to an interview Vesely did with Pigeons and Planes last year to get some more information on the project. The interview revealed that the film stars Chance the Rapper as

Dax Lycander, an ex-Chinese delivery food driver who also happens to be a werewolf. When a pizza delivery boy is murdered, the film's fictional city suspects Lycander of the crime because of his spotted past.

The film takes place in a supernatural alternate reality where ghosts and werewolves are commonly accepted, setting the stage for murders and other classic horror film elements.

Vesely describes it as surreal and comedic, with a tone inspired by Twin Peaks.

Chance the Rapper is joined in the cast by Zazie Beetz, Paul Scheer, and Will Brill.

A release date for SLICE hasn't been announced, but A24 does have mystery projects scheduled for release on March 16th and April 27th of next year, so it could be out on one of those dates.
