Daniel Craig flicks Dream House and Cowboys and Aliens get MPAA ratings

Two Daniel Craig movies for the price of one; in this article, anyway. The Gods on Mount MPAA have delivered their rulings on two of Craig’s upcoming films – COWBOYS AND ALIENS and DREAM HOUSE – and it’s pleasing to report that at least one of them is a surprise.

First off, COWBOYS AND ALIENS has been given a PG-13. Duh. The rating is for intense sequences of western and sci-fi action and violence, some partial nudity and a brief crude reference. That partial nudity, I assume, belongs to Olivia Wilde and not Sam Rockwell. (Shudder)

DREAM HOUSE, however, has been given an R, where I just assumed it would also receive the PG-13 treatment. The Jim Sheridan-directed thriller contains some violence. Yes, just some violence, and nothing more. That said, Universal Pictures is appealing the ruling, so this might change in the near future. At least it probably means we’ll be getting an interesting director’s cut sometime down the road.

COWBOYS AND ALIENS opens on JULY 29th, while DREAM HOUSE hits the big screen on SEPTEMBER 30th.
