Dave Bautista runs into Blade Runner 2

It's hard to argue that BLADE RUNNER 2 is a great idea, but with each new announcement, the film inches closer and closer to being a genuine must-see. We just got the splendid Robin Wright on the cast, but now she's being joined by the rare wrestler who can actually act, Dave Bautista.

Bautista proved his chops as the cluelessly funny Drax in the 2014 breakout hit GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY, then returned to being criminally underrated once more in a wasted role in the James Bond flick SPECTRE. He'll be returning in GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY 2, of course, but now that he's in BLADE RUNNER, in an "important supporting role," hopefully his talents will achieve actual recognition.

From SICARIO-helmer Dennis Villenueve, BLADE RUNNER 2 stars Ryan Gosling and Harrison Ford, returning in his original role as Rick Deckard. The screenplay is being penned by Hampton Fancher and Michael Green, from a story by Ridley Scott and Fancher. Look for it on January 12, 2018.
