Oscar-nominated Killers of the Flower Moon star Lily Gladstone and Twilight and Dark Winds actor Kiowa Gordon are teaming up for a horror western with a very bad treasure hunt at its center. The two actors are attached to star in The Curse of Silver, a supernatural thriller being directed by Geoff Marslett and Gordon.
Marslett and Gordon are co-directing the movie from a screenplay by Marslett and Rafael A. Ruiz. The project reunites Gladstone and Gordon with Marslett, who previously worked with them on Quantum Cowboys. Liz Cardenas, who produced A Ghost Story, and Ram Getz are producing The Curse of Silver. Gladstone, Gordon, and Michael Mortensen are executive producers.
What is The Curse of Silver about?
According to Deadline, The Curse of Silver is set on the lawless Texas-Mexico border in the aftermath of the Civil War. The story follows two Union deserters who drag a cursed chest of Confederate silver into a besieged town, only to unleash supernatural violence.
The film is one of 80 projects selected for the 2026 Gotham Week Project Market, which is running from September 27 through October 3 in Brooklyn. A production start date has not yet been announced.
Who stars in The Curse of Silver?
Gladstone and Gordon are currently the only two announced stars.
Gladstone received an Academy Award nomination for her performance as Mollie Burkhart in Martin Scorsese’s Killers of the Flower Moon. She will next be seen opposite Michael B. Jordan in Amazon MGM’s The Thomas Crown Affair, which is scheduled for release in March 2027.
Gordon is best known for playing Embry Call in The Twilight Saga and Jim Chee in AMC’s Dark Winds. He recently wrapped the fifth season of Dark Winds, which is executive produced by George R.R. Martin.
Marslett previously directed Quantum Cowboys, an animated western starring Gladstone and Gordon, as well as Mars and Loves Her Gun.
There’s no word yet on when The Curse of Silver will begin filming or when it will be released, but the combination of a post-Civil War western, supernatural horror, and a cursed chest of Confederate silver gives this one an intriguing setup.
