Doctor Who’s Matt Smith joins Terminator: Genesis

Sci-fi fans, get ready to flip: Former Doctor Who Matt Smith has joined the cast of Alan Taylor’s TERMINATOR: GENESIS.

According to Deadline, Smith’s role (which has not been disclosed) has a major role in the first film that will grow in the second and third entries.

The UK-born Smith played The Doctor for four years before hanging it up in 2013. Later this year he’ll be seen in Ryan Gosling’s directorial debut LOST RIVER.

Smith joins Arnold Schwarzenegger, Emilia Clarke, Jason Clarke, Dayo Okeniyi, Jai Courtney, Aaron V. Williamson and J.K. Simmons in TERMINATOR: GENESIS, which opens July 1, 2015.
