Almost two years have passed since the last time we shared an update on MARY, director Michael Goi's haunted boat movie that stars Gary Oldman and was scripted by THE SHALLOWS writer Anthony Jaswinski… but now we have some very good news to pass along. RLJE Films has announced that they will be giving MARY a theatrical, On Demand, and Digital HD release on October 11th.

The film finds Oldman taking on the role of

David, a struggling blue-collar captain looking to make a better life for his family. Strangely drawn to an abandoned ship that is up for auction, David impulsively buys the boat, believing it will be his family’s ticket to happiness and prosperity. But soon after they embark on their maiden journey, strange and frightening events begin to terrorize David and his family, causing them to turn on one another and doubt their own sanity. With tensions high, the ship drifts off course, and it becomes horrifyingly clear that they are being lured to an even greater evil out at sea.

Oldman's co-stars include Emily Mortimer, Jennifer Esposito, Stefanie Scott, Owen Teague, Manuel Garcia-Rulfo, and Chloe Perrin.

The trailer for MARY can be seen below. The movie looks like it's going to be entertaining to me, with some nice, creepy moments on display in the trailer. My favorite moment in there comes when Stefanie Scott's character is talking about a little girl's imaginary friend.

Check out the trailer and see if MARY looks like a movie you'd like to watch this Halloween season.
