Hanks, Berry, Broadbent & Winshaw pop up in first look stills of Cloud Atlas

One of the most ambitious films to come about in some time is CLOUD ATLAS, the Wachowski/Tykwer joint adaptation of David Mitchell's novel. If you've been following, the primary players in the film are each inhabiting 6 different characters in 6 different time periods. Good enough to wanna see right there!

But until we do this October, take a look at Tom Hanks, Halle Berry, Ben Winshaw and Jim Broadbent in the two new stills we have, courtesy of EW.

Also starring Susan Sarandon, Hugo Weaving, Jim Sturgess, Hugh Grant, Keith David, Doona Bae, David Gyasi and Charly Yoon - CLOUD ATLAS follows:

Six nested stories that take us from the remote South Pacific in the nineteenth century to a distant, post-apocalyptic future. Each tale is revealed to be a story that is read (or watched) by the main character in the next. All stories but the last one get interrupted at some moment, and after the sixth story concludes at the center of the book, the novel "goes back" in time, "closing" each story as the book progresses in terms of pages but regresses in terms of the historical period in which the action takes place. Eventually, readers end where they started, with Adam Ewing in the Pacific Ocean, circa 1850. Tom Hanks, Halle Berry (below), Jim Broadbent, Susan Sarandon, Hugo Weaving, Ben Winshaw, Jim Sturgess, and Keith David all appear in the film.

The CLOUD rolls in October 26th.

Extra Tidbit: This an Oscar contender you think?
