Back in July was when the news that I SPIT ON YOUR GRAVE would be bypassing the MPAA for a limited unrated release in some markets, but it’s been rather unsure exactly where the flick would be showing off its grimy face. Now, thanks to a press release, we know where the Anchor Bay film will be unleashing this nasty nugget upon the audience…

New York, Los Angeles, Chicago, San Francisco, Dallas, Detroit, Houston, Phoenix, Miami, and Baltimore will receive the SPIT on OCTOBER 8th, with additional markets to be announced. Late-night sneaks will take place on Thursday, OCTOBER 7th in select locations.

“We are thrilled to be releasing the unrated, uncensored version of the new I Spit On Your Grave,” says Bill Clark, President of Anchor Bay Entertainment. “Steven R. Monroe has brought his own remarkable vision to this cult classic and we are certain that the unrated cut will, like the original, evoke a visceral reaction from audiences worldwide.”

Director Steven R. Monroe added, “To release this film theatrically in an unrated format – the way it was meant to be seen – will delight horror fans.”

Having seen the flick, I can confirm that it’s quite brutal and unpleasant, so if you’re planning on seeing it unrated, be sure you’re prepared. Then again, if you’re not prepared for a movie called I SPIT ON YOUR GRAVE, then I don’t know what to do for you. I guess I just mean this isn’t a “date night” movie, know what I’m sayin’?
