One of my favorite current actors nowadays is Idris Elba. I find myself dream-casting nerd movies all the time and he is always at the top of my list. Yes, even for Bruce the shark in the eventual JAWS reboot.
During a recent interview with Screen Crush regarding his new film MOLLY'S GAME with Jessica Chastain, Elba was hit with a question regarding the current state of THE DARK TOWER TV series.
Turns out, like everyone else on the planet, Elba has no idea what's going on with the potential series.

I don’t know, actually, where it lies. I must figure this out, I don’t know where it lies. I’m unfortunately the last to know at this point.
Hopefully, we'll have some news soon as I think the book series would make a killer TV series. Especially on a network like HBO. And especially if they kept Elba as The Gunslinger.
