IFC orders Dana Gould-scripted series Stan Against Evil

Last Updated on July 21, 2021

IFC has a strong focus on comedy when it comes to their original programming, and while the series they've just ordered from comedian/The Simpsons writer Dana Gould is in line with that, the show will also be bringing a bit of horror to the network.

Called Stan Against Evil, Gould's series

revolves around a disgruntled sheriff of a New England town, built upon the site of a witch burning ground, who is forced to retire but winds up teaming with his female successor to fight off a plague of demons.

Sounds like a set-up with potential, it will be interesting to find out who gets cast as the demon-fighting leads and just what their demonic opponents will look like.

Gould will be writing the show and executive producing it with Tom Lassally, Frank Scherma, and Justin Wilkes.

Stan Against Evil is expected to premiere on IFC in late 2016 with a first season consisting of eight episodes.
