Josh Boone to write the big screen adaptation of Stephen King’s The Talisman

Last Updated on July 30, 2021

For the longest time, director Josh Boone was attached to the adaptation of Stephen King's THE STAND. When that flick went south (yet again) Boone became attached to another King story REVIVAL, before finally settling on NEW MUTANTS.

But now Boone will be returning to the world of Stephen King with the feature adaptation of King and Peter Straub's THE TALISMAN. The novel was initially being developed by Amblin as a TV series, but now they are moving forward with a feature film instead. Not sure why.

THE TALISMAN synopsis:

Based on the best-selling novel, the movie follows a boy, who in order to save his mother from certain death, enters a parallel world known as the Territories in search of a powerful talisman.

While Boone is currently only tapped to be the writer of the film, it wouldn't be surprising if he took on directing duties as well once he finishes on NEW MUTANTS.

We'll let you know when we hear more!
