Kevin Bacon to terrorize Jeff Bridges & Ryan Reynolds as R.I.P.D. villain

Trying to think, have Kevin Bacon and Jeff Bridges ever done a film together? Well, they’re about to!

Variety has learned that the man who has parlayed the “six degrees” phenomenon into a highly lucrative charity will indeed star in the big-screen adaptation of R.I.P.D. Bacon’ll be terrorizing Jeff Bridges and Ryan Reynolds in the film.

Scripted by Phil Hay and Mat Manfredi, from the popular comic by Peter Lenkov – R.I.P.D. follows:

Two cops, one recently dead and a gunslinger who’s been dead for hundreds of years, who work on the Rest In Peace Department – which is the police department of the dead. And they basically…it takes place on a normal day and it’s about trying to keep the dead quiet.

No details about Bacon’s sinister role have been unearthed, but if he’s half as ferocious as he was to poor Sean Astin in THE RIVER WILD…watch out Green Lantern. Watch the f*ck out!

Universal will release R.I.P.D. on June 28, 2013.
