Leatherface will be released in October

Last Updated on July 31, 2021

There has been speculation about just what the hell happened to the upcoming TEXAS CHAINSAW MASSACRE prequel LEATHERFACE. We heard the new film was going to be directed by the team behind INSIDE, we learned the synopsis, the cast, yadda, yadda, yadda, the movie was even shot, cut and ready to roll… and then it stayed on the shelf.

I theorized back in February that it was because BLAIR WITCH was a disappointment at the box-office, and I very well may have been right, but none of that matters now as we just got word that LEATHERFACE has set a (vague) release date.

Yes, it turns out LEATHERFACE will be hitting theaters this October.

Producer Christa Campbell on Twitter:

And there you have it, folks. We will finally be getting more chainsaw massacres this Halloween.

Time to rejoice!

LEATHERFACE synopsis:

A prequel about teenage Leatherface who escapes from a mental hospital with three other inmates kidnaps a young nurse and takes her on a road trip from hell. Along the way, they are pursued by an equally deranged lawman out for revenge, one of these teens is destined for tragedy and horrors that will destroy his mind, molding him into the monster we now call Leatherface.

LEATHERFACE is directed by Alexandre Bustillo and Julien Maury from a script by Seth M. Sherwood and stars Stephen Dorff, Lili Taylor, Nicole Andrews, Sam Strike, Julian Kostov, and Sam Coleman.

LEATHERFACE hits theaters nationwide this October.
