If there’s anything I’ve been craving, it’s a sequel to THE MESSENGERS. That bland, emotionless trifle of a Lifetime Movie really kicked my ass, and the sequel better do the same or so help me God I’ll- ah who am I kidding. No one asked for this. I’m not sure why it exists, other than there must be some weird MESSENGERS fan base that has eluded my attention until now, which apparently made the first film a gigantic success on DVD…
THE MESSENGERS 2: THE SCARECROW is a prequel to the original film, and focuses on the story of John Rollins – a simple North Dakota farmer, struggling to save his farm and hold his family together. When he places a mysterious scarecrow in his field, his luck changes for the better…but it may be at the cost of his sanity.
The flick stars Norman Reedus and Claire Holt, and was directed by Martin Barnewitz. It hits DVD on JULY 21. Check out the trailer and rejoice, MESSENGERS cult!
