New details surface regarding The Predator reshoots

We all know by this point that Shane Black and Fred Dekker's upcoming reboot THE PREDATOR has been undergoing some reshoots as of late to try and correct a third act that didn't test well with preview audiences. And today AVP Galaxy has confirmed this is the case and even dropped some new details of just what went down.

According to the site, the reshoots have completely removed the "friendly Predators" from the film along with the entire "APC sequence" and the various hybrid creatures with only the Predator Dog (what the shit?) remaining.

On top of all of that, the site reports that all of the major characters have had their death scenes changed and the final battle with the "Upgrade Predator" now takes place in the woods at night with Upgrade Predator "giving the survivors a chance to escape before he begins to hunt them to find the best fighter amongst them."

The new cut of the film also evidently has some connections to the previous PREDATOR films stuffed in their for fanboy delight such as Olivia Munn’s character being "shown some grainy pictures of the Predators from the first two films" and the spears from both AVP: ALIEN VS PREDATOR and PREDATOR 2 will be on display.

That's a whole hell of a lot of shite they're reshooting on Shane Black's THE PREDATOR? Do you think reshooting that kind of footage is a good idea? I guess we'll see once the film hits theaters this September. The reboot stars Boyd Holbrook, Jacob Tremblay, Tom Jane, Sterling K. Brown, Olivia Munn, Keegan-Michael Key, Augusto Aguilera, Trevante Rhodes, Alfie Allen, Jake Busey, and Yvonne Strahovski.

It follows this synopsis:

From the outer reaches of space to the small-town streets of suburbia, the hunt comes home in Shane Black’s explosive reinvention of the Predator series. Now, the universe’s most lethal hunters are stronger, smarter and deadlier than ever before, having genetically upgraded themselves with DNA from other species. When a young boy accidentally triggers their return to Earth, only a ragtag crew of ex-soldiers and a disgruntled science teacher can prevent the end of the human race.

The new film is set to be released on September 14th. However, if you just can't wait until then for more Predator action, The Predator: Hunters And Hunted Official Movie Prequel is now available for pre-order over at Amazon and will be shipping out and hitting shelves officially on July 31st, 2018.
