New teaser promo for A&E's Bates Motel shows some Motherly Love

The BATES MOTEL promotional onslaught has begun and in the past few weeks we've seen several promos and a slew of posters from the highly-anticipated series hit the web and today we have a brand new promo for the upcoming PSYCHO prequel which features Freddie Highmore (the little kid from CHARLIE AND THE CHOCOLATE FACTORY all grown up) as a young Norman Bates and Vera Farmiga (SOURCE CODE) as 'Mother', Mrs. Norma Bates. Check it out below:

The series is described as "a contemporary prequel to the genre-defining film [which] promises to give viewers an intimate portrayal of how Norman Bates' psyche unravels through his teenage years and just how deeply intricate his relationship to his mother, Norma, truly is." Following the tragic death of her husband, Norma Bates buys a motel on the outskirts of the idyllic coastal town of White Pine Bay, seeking a fresh start. As Norma and Norman get ensconced in their new home, they discover this town isn't quite what it seems, and the locals aren’t so quick to let them in on their secrets. But the Bates’ are done being pushed around and will do whatever it takes to survive – and will do whatever it takes to protect their own secrets.

BATES MOTEL was created by former "Lost" show-runner Carlton Cuse and "Friday Night Lights" writer Kerry Ehrin. The series will also feature Nestor Carbonell (THE DARK KNIGHT), Max Thieriot (HOUSE AT THE END OF THE STREET), Mike Vogel (CLOVERFIELD) and Olivia Cooke (THE QUIET ONES) among its regular cast.

The series is set to premiere on March 18 on A&E.

Well, hello Mother! BATES MOTEL star Vera Farmiga.

Extra Tidbit: Do you remember another show from the 80's titled "Bates Motel"? It was pretty horrid.
