Open Road acquires Eli Roth's The Green Inferno

After just recently premiering at the Toronto International Film Festival, it didn't take long for Eli Roth's THE GREEN INFERNO to get picked up. Per THR, Open Road is taking a bite out of Eli Roth's THE GREEN INFERNO. The distributor nabbed U.S. rights to the gory cannibal movie, which is expected to get a wide release.  We've been hearing some solid stuff surrounding Roth's return to feature films (check out our review HERE) and Open Road apparently agrees. While there is no word on an official date, the film is expected to get a wide release — we'll be sure to clue you guys in on all the dates once we get them!

How far would you go for a cause you believe in? In horror master Eli Roth’s terrifying new film, a group of college students take their humanitarian protest from New York to the Amazon jungle, only to get kidnapped by the native tribe they came to save: a tribe that still practices the ancient rite of cannibalism, and has a healthy appetite for intruders.

Directed by Eli Roth, THE GREEN INFERNO stars Daryl Sabara, Kirby Bliss Blanton, Lorenza Izzo, Ariel Levy, Aaron Burns, Magda Apanowicz, and Sky Ferreria. A sequel is already in the works with AFTERSHOCK director Nicolas Lopez at the helm — Click HERE for all the details!
