Paramount sets dates for sequels to Terminator: Genisys

Last Updated on July 22, 2021

We're only 10 months away from seeing Arnold Schwarzenegger return as the T-800 for Alan Taylor's TERMINATOR: GENISYS, which is set to hit theaters on July 1, 2015, but Paramount is looking to the future by commiting to two sequels and penciling in release dates for the next two films in the proposed trilogy.

Deadline is reporting that Paramount has scheduled release dates for TERMINATOR 2 and TERMINATOR 3 (titles surely to change) with the first sequel to hit on May 19, 2017, and the third film hitting on June 29, 2018. With the two sequels being released 13 months apart it seems likely that the films will shoot back-to-back. We'll keep you posted.

Paramount seems confident that TERMINATOR: GENISYS will do well enough to merit these sequels, and I'm sure they're right. There's no question in my mind that GENISYS will be a hit. I'm ready for more TERMINATOR action, especially with Schwarzenegger back!

Arnold Schwarzenegger, Douglas Smith, Matt Smith, Jason Clarke, Emilia Clarke, Jai Courtney, J.K. Simmons, Dayo Okeniyi, and Byung Hun Lee star in TERMINATOR: GENISYS, which arrives on July 1, 2015. Laeta Kalogridis and Patrick Lussier penned the script, and Alan Taylor directed. Skydance and Annapurna co-financed along with Paramount with David Ellison producing for Skydance and Megan Ellison producing for Annapurna.
