Pics from the set of AMC’s Preacher give a glimpse of Cassidy and Arseface

Last Updated on July 22, 2021

It's been a while since we've heard any news about AMC's PREACHER pilot, but thanks to the efforts of Italian website Comicus we now have a look at two characters who are sure to become favorites of viewers if AMC does give a series order to Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg's adaptation of the Garth Ennis comic book. The website gathered together a bunch of pictures from the set, and featured among them is the first glimpse of Joseph Gilgun as Irish vampire Proinsias Cassidy, a sidekick to the titular preacher. Another picture, albeit a blurry one, reveals the mug of the severely deformed Arseface, as played by Ian Colletti. Seth Rogen gave the first look at Arseface back in May, but he had his head turned away from camera in that shot.

PREACHER follows

Reverend Jesse Custer, a tough Texas preacher who has lost his faith, has learned that God has left Heaven and abandoned His responsibilities. He finds himself the only person capable of tracking God down, demanding answers, and making Him answer for His dereliction of duty. Accompanying Jesse on his journey is his former girlfriend and a friendly vampire who seems to prefer a pint in the pub to the blood of the innocent. On his tail is one of the most iconic bad guys in print – an immortal, unstoppable killing machine named the Saint of Killers – a western lone gunman archetype whose sole purpose is to hunt and kill Jesse.

The PREACHER pilot was directed by Rogen and Goldberg and written by Sam Catlin, who will serve as showrunner if it goes to series. In addition to Gilgun and Colletti, the cast includes Dominic Cooper as Jesse Custer, Lucy Griffiths, Ruth Negga, W. Earl Brown, Elizabeth Perkins, Tom Brooke, Jamie Anne Allman, and Derek Wilson.
