Poster and release date for Hitchcock revealed!

Last Updated on August 5, 2021

Fox Searchlight has announced that Sacha Gervasi’s HITCHCOCK, starring Anthony Hopkins as the legendary director, has received a NOVEMBER 23, 2012 release date. In addition, they have unveiled the first poster, which you can see below. It’s obvious that the studio will push Hopkins in the Oscar race, as this is a prime Awards Season release.

HITCHCOCK is a love story about one of the most influential filmmakers of the last century, Alfred Hitchcock and his wife and partner Alma Reville. The film takes place during the making of Hitchcock’s seminal movie Psycho.

Color me surprised that the flick is coming out two months from now; we’ve heard nary a thing about its release, and it seemed certain that it would be hitting theaters in 2013. Nevertheless, looks like we’ll be getting a double dose of Hitch this fall: THE GIRL, which details the making of THE BIRDS, will air on HBO in October.

In addition to Hopkins, HITCHCOCK sports an all-star cast that includes Helen Mirren, Scarlett Johansson, Danny Huston, Toni Collette, Jessica Biel, Michael Stuhlbarg, James D’Arcy, Michael Wincott, Richard Portnow and Kurtwood Smith.
