Producer confirms Krasinski will return for A Quiet Place 2

We already know that co-writer/director John Krasinski’s recent hit horror-thriller A QUIET PLACE is getting a sequel. But today we have some very encouraging news regarding the upcoming follow up from Platinum Dunes producer Andrew Form. The mega-producer recently spoke with Collider about A QUIET PLACE 2 (or A QUIETER PLACE?) and not only confirmed that Krasinski is working on the film, but that they have no intention of moving on without him, and until the story is right.

Producer Andrew Form:

Oh [Krasinski is] definitely involved. We’re lucky on this one. I’ve had movies where the studio says to you, ‘Here’s your date. Let’s go!’ and on this one, we’re not rushing anything, which is amazing. So we’re gonna take our time, we’re gonna figure out where to go, but there is no rush on it and we’re just starting to talk about it. We’re figuring out what everyone’s involvement’s gonna be and what the actual next movie’s gonna be. The first one is so special to us that we really want to take our time with this and not rush anything.

I don’t know about you but I find Form’s comments more than a little encouraging. I mean sure (SPOILERS) the follow up could go on without Krasinski considering he kicks the quiet-bucket at the end of the first film, but regardless on whether or not he ends up on the screen (flashback or prequel) not having him behind the camera again would be a huge mistake, I think.

The movie will be hitting 4K Ultra HD Combo Pack, Blu-ray Combo Pack and DVD from Paramount Home Media Distribution on July 10th. The film is based on a screenplay written by Krasinski along with Bryan Woods and Scott Beck and is:

Knowing that even the slightest whisper or footstep can bring death, Evelyn (Emily Blunt) and Lee (John Krasinski) are determined to find a way to protect their children at all costs while they desperately search for a way to fight back. The film earned a 95% fresh score on Rotten Tomatoes and generated an extraordinary $175M+ at the domestic box office.
