Prometheus sequel finds a writer

Ridley Scott is that much closer to revisiting PROMETHEUS as Jack Paglen (TRANSCENDENCE) is currently in talks to pen the sequel, reports Variety. While Scott is currently still set to produce through his Scott Free banner it's unknown at this time if he will direct. Noomi Rapace and Michael Fassbender are also expected to return.

Currently the plot details are being worked out but Scott has said in interviews that while the first PROMETHEUS had several elements linking it to the ALIEN franchise, this latest installment will feel more like its own film. I really enjoyed the first flick — it was nice to see Scott back in the sci-fi genre and I for one can't wait to see what they do with a sequel. Maybe they'll actually answer some questions this time around!

For Paglen, the film marks his second high-profile project following Wally Pfister and Johnny Depp’s sci-fi thriller TRANSCENDENCE, which opens next April.
