"But there was no Goldilocks in his story. There were only the Wolfs, who lived together in a cave above a town. Big Wolf, Middle Wolf, and Little Wolf. Big Wolf was a brute. Little Wolf was timid. Middle Wolf was the peacemaker."

Fox Searchlight Pictures Presidents of Production, Film, and Television Matthew Greenfield and David Greenbaum announced last year that principal photography had commenced in Vancouver, British Columbia for the horror thriller ANTLERS. The movie is the first project between Fox Searchlight Pictures and Guillermo del Toro following the announcement of a deal between Searchlight and del Toro that covers live-action feature film projects to be written, produced and/or directed by del Toro.

ANTLERS stars Keri Russell (STAR WARS: EPISODE IX), Jesse Plemons (FARGO), Jeremy T. Thomas (LORE), Graham Greene (WIND RIVER), Scott Haze (VENOM), Rory Cochrane (WHITE BOY RICK) and Amy Madigan (FIELD OF DREAMS) and centers on:

A small-town Oregon teacher (Keri Russell) and her brother (Jesse Plemons), the local sheriff, become entwined with a young student (Jeremy T. Thomas) harboring a dangerous secret with frightening consequences.

We've already shared a handful of creepy images from both the movie and behind-the-scenes and you can check those out HERE and HERE if you missed them. But today we wanted to make sure that not only did you know the film is based on the short story THE QUIET BOY from CHANNEL ZERO and HANNIBAL writer Nick Antosca, but that you can read his full short story for free right over HERE. I wanted to tell you guys about this yesterday, but I felt I needed to read the story myself first to see what was what. And now that I've had the pleasure of sitting down with the 8,000 some-odd word tale of terror, I can recommend whole-heartedly that is is, in fact, worth the time.

Directed by Scott Cooper (BLACK MASS), the film is written by Henry Chaisson (OPEN 24 HOURS) & Nick Antosca (CHANNEL ZERO) with revisions by Scott Cooper. The film’s producers are Guillermo del Toro (THE SHAPE OF WATER), J. Miles Dale (THE SHAPE OF WATER), David S. Goyer (BATMAN v SUPERMAN: DAWN OF JUSTICE), and Kevin Turen (99 HOMES) serving as executive producer.
