Schwarzenegger on new Conan movie: “Let’s do it!”

The last word we heard on another CONAN THE BARBARIAN project was back in February of last year when we learned that Amazon was preparing a Conan series that would harken back to the character's literary roots. Ryan Condal was being credited as the creator and writer of the project and Miguel Sapochnik was set to direct. But since then we've heard nothing on the potential series. Oh, well. But that said, not all is dead in the world of CONAN as it turns out that Arnold Schwarzenegger is still down for returning to one of his most iconic roles in a long-anticipated sequel.

The Terminator himself took to Twitter earlier today to pimp a new Conan comic book fittingly called Conan the Barbarian #1. And he says:

… It's a movie I've been wanting to make for a long time. Let's do it!

Schwarzenegger is obviously talking about THE LEGEND OF CONAN, right? I'd bet on it. But that movie has been up in the air for years with screenwriter Chris Morgan saying that the "studio decided they weren't gonna make it." But then… Schwarzenegger said a third Conan movie was still "on his radar". Specifically, Schwarzenegger said in regards to THE LEGEND OF CONAN back in 2017:

Two screenplays have been written, which means there are scripts that are available that are really good; they just have to be fine-tuned. As soon as they sort all that out, I think they can go and shoot a movie. But I would love to do another one, yes.

So, one of the screenwriters says, "Not happening", but Conan himself says, "Not dead yet!" Which one do we believe? I don't know about you, but I'll go ahead and trust in The Destroyer.
