Schwarzenegger up for True Lies 2 & Last Action Hero 2!

Last Updated on July 30, 2021

A few weeks back we passed along the awesome rumor that a remake of John McTiernan's action-comedy LAST ACTION HERO starring Arnold Schwarzenegger was headed our way. And today we're hearing from Schwarzenegger himself that not only would be up for returning to the role of Jack Slater (and himself) in LAST ACTION HERO 2 but he'd also be down for TRUE LIES 2 while he's at it.

Yes, during a recent interview, Schwarzenegger was asked if he'd be up for these “legacy sequels", and he responded:

If a script is great, I do it. It’s always up to the fans; if they demand to see another movie like that.

How would YOU feel about a LAST ACTION HERO sequel? Let us know below! For those that've never had the pleasure, the original film centered on:

young Danny Madigan (Austin O'Brien) who takes comfort in watching action movies featuring the indestructible Los Angeles cop Jack Slater (Arnold Schwarzenegger) following the death of his father, After being given a magic ticket by theater manager Nick (Robert Prosky), Danny is sucked into the screen and bonds with Slater. When evil fictional villain Benedict (Charles Dance) gets his hands on the ticket and enters the real world, Danny and Jack must follow and stop him.

John McTiernan directed LAST ACTION HERO from a screenplay written by Shane Black and David Arnott based on a story by Zak Penn and Adam Leff. McTiernan also produced the film along with Steve Roth. It starred Arnold Schwarzenegger, Austin O'Brien, Charles Dance, F. Murray Abraham, Art Carney, Frank McRae, Robert Prosky, Anthony Quinn, Mercedes Ruehl, with Ian McKellen as Death, and Tom Noonan as The Ripper. Columbia Pictures unleashed the cult classic into theaters back on June 18, 1993. Buy it on Blu-ray RIGHT HERE.
