The First Purge gets first teaser/announcement trailer

It was just yesterday that we brought you guys the first teaser poster for the upcoming prequel to THE PURGE, called THE FIRST PURGE. And today we have an all-new teaser/announcement trailer for your viewing pleasure.

I have to say that I dig the marketing for this new film. They are really digging it in and (damn-near) breaking it off with the political satire. And personally, I'm loving it. Bring on more of this type of marketing!

Synopsis:

Behind every tradition lies a revolution.  Next Independence Day, witness the rise of our country’s 12 hours of annual lawlessness.  Welcome to the movement that began as a simple experiment: The First Purge.

To push the crime rate below one percent for the rest of the year, the New Founding Fathers of America (NFFA) test a sociological theory that vents aggression for one night in one isolated community.  But when the violence of oppressors meets the rage of the marginalized, the contagion will explode from the trial-city borders and spread across the nation.

The film is directed by Gerard McMurray from a screenplay by James DeMonaco and stars Y’Lan Noel, Lex Scott Davis, Joivan Wade, Luna Lauren Velez and Marisa Tomei.
