The mystery aspect of the ads for American Horror Story season ?6 is actually pretty fun. They've finally managed to harness the rabid fan theories that always surround their promotional material. But you know one ad that I desperately pray doesn't turn out to be the theme of the entire season? "The Visitors."
This new TV spot depicts some spooky crop circles as the camera goes fuzzy interference. Color me unimpressed. This is the second spot that implies an alien theme, which is a little disheartening. Judging from the sci-fi material in Asylum, which is pretty unanimously the least-liked part of that messy but atmospheric season, the show really shouldn't be playing in that sandbox again. Let's hope that this is just the result of some playful marketing person trying to yank our chains.
