The Texas Chainsaw Massacre prequel has found its directors

Last Updated on August 2, 2021

Not one, but two directors are going to bring Leatherface’s teenage years to life in the TEXAS CHAINSAW MASSACRE prequel, LEATHERFACE, as INSIDE tandem Julian Maury and Alexandre Bustillo have been confirmed to take the helm. A couple of weeks ago there was buzz going around that Maury and Bustillo were at the top of the list of directors that Millennium wanted on board the project. It looks like they got their wish, which is good news for us because if anyone can make a pimply-faced teenage Leatherface scary, it’s these guys. I hope.

Other than that, though, there aren’t any new details on this one just yet. What we know as of right now is that Seth M. Sherwood penned the script in which it serves as an origin story that follows Leatherface's early years.

Although Maury and Bustillo are no doubt a couple of exciting choices, it'll be interesting to see how Leatherface's timeline pans out should there be more films to follow this one. Keeping up with this ugly bastard over the years has been exhausting to say the least, so let's just hope that LEATHERFACE is the first step in a new direction for the chainsaw-wielding maniac. We'll keep you guys up to date on LEATHERFACE as more news comes in!
