This first clip from the French cannibal film Raw initiates the rookies

Hazing is never a pleasant experience, but we should all be glad we didn’t attend the French veterinary school depicted in RAW, the debut film from writer-director Julia Ducournau. In the first official clip from the film, the rookies are inducted into the school with a bizarre ritual that starts at CARRIE and promises to end up at THE GREEN INFERNO before too long. RAW stars Garance Marillier as:

the teenaged Justine, who commences her studies at veterinary school to follow in her family members’ footsteps. Raised as a vegetarian, Justine is pressured at school to try meat for the first time. Once she does, she plumbs both the depths of her own soul and tests the limits of her darkest cravings.

Marillier’s co-stars include Ella Rumpf, Rabah Nait Oufella, and Laurent Lucas.

U.S. gorehounds can catch the film when it hits limited theaters on March 10, 2017.
