Tommy Lee Jones says MIB 3 script not finished, doesn’t know the plot

In a really amusing interview over at New York Magazine’s Vulture blog, Tommy Lee Jones – an infamously tough interview subject – reveals that even though he’s just one week away from finishing his stint on the MEN IN BLACK 3 set, he’s still unclear what it’s about… Furthermore, the script isn’t even complete!

Here’s Tommy’s response to the interviewer’s query about the film’s plotline: “No. I don’t really know what the plotline is. There are vast pieces of the script yet unwritten.”

The flummoxed reporter asks, “Even though there’s only one week of shooting left?” and Tommy replies blunty: “One week for me.”

I’m not sure if this says something about where Tommy’s head is at or the state of the MIB 3 script (probably both) but it sure is refreshing to see an actor who doesn’t feel the need to play the promotional game with insincerity. He is who he is.

There’s also a funny bit at the end of the interview where the reporter, showing great big balls, asks “What are you doing in Captain America!?”

Tommy, rather than be insulted, responds thusly: “Yeah, I ask myself that same question every day! The character I play is the one you’ve seen in a thousand movies: the gruff, skeptical officer overseeing a team of talented, slightly sarcastic, specially talented soldiers.”

Gotta love the man. For the full interview, head on over HERE.
