Trailer: Mandy Moore is surrounded by sharks 47 Meters Down

47 Meters Down Johannes Roberts

Director Johannes Roberts' shark thriller 47 METERS DOWN came very close to being released on home video under the title IN THE DEEP last year, but now that it's set for a theatrical release this summer the distributors are doing their best to make sure you know it's going to be playing on the big screen, putting out three different trailers in as many months.

Gulf Film put out the trailer for 47 METERS DOWN's release in the Middle East in March, then we got a trailer for the U.S. release in April, and now we have another trailer for the U.S. release. The latest trailer can be seen below.

Scripted by Roberts and Ernest Riera, the film tells the following story:

On the rebound after a devastating break-up, Lisa is ready for adventure while on vacation in Mexico. Even still, she needs a little extra persuasion when her daring sister Kate  suggests they go shark diving with some locals. Once underwater in a protective cage, Lisa and Kate catch a once in a lifetime, face-to-face look at majestic Great Whites. But when their worst fears are realized and the cage breaks away from their boat, they find themselves plummeting to the bottom of the seabed, too deep to radio for help without making themselves vulnerable to the savage sharks, their oxygen supplies rapidly dwindling. 47 METERS DOWN is a terrifying tale of survival set in the domain of the ocean's fiercest creatures.

Mandy Moore, Claire Holt, Matthew Modine, and Yani Gellman star.

I've heard some very good things about 47 METERS DOWN, so I'm glad that it's going to be playing in theatres instead of just coming to DVD/Blu-ray. I'm especially glad that this theatrical release is just one month away - moviegoers will be able to experience this shark-infested nightmare on June 16th.
