Well here is an intriguing project heading our way from Warner Brothers. Have you guys ever heard of the Deborah Harkness novel A DISCOVERY OF WITCHES? Don’t worry if you haven’t because according to Variety Warner Bros. have just gone ahead and snatched up to the rights to this one and I’m about to school you all on it!

You see Warner Bros. have already gone and settled the project with Denise DiNovi and Allison Greenspan while tapping Matt Cherniss with the task of overseeing for the studio. But what is this thing about… Check it:

The story centers on a reluctant witch and a 1,500-year-old vampire. The witch — a direct descendant of the first woman executed in the Salem Witch trials — accidentally unlocks an enchanted manuscript and finds herself in a race to prevent an interspecies war.

Sounds… interesting. As long as they don’t market this thing to the TWILIGHT SAGA audience we may have something here. Anyone check out A DISCOVERY OF WITCHES? Spit some bullets below and let us know what we’re in store for!

Harkness is actually planning on penning a trilogy from A DISCOVERY OF WITCHES with the second book, SHADOW OF NIGHT, set to be published sometime next year. So you know what that means folks… if A DISCOVERY OF WITCHES scores well we’ll be in store for at least a couple more!

Now this is all the news we’ve got for you guys on this one. I know it’s pretty thin but we’ll most definitely be keeping our eyes and ears open for more on A DISCOVERY OF WITCHES as it comes our way.
