Variety announced a new little independent horror flick today that’s currently gearing up for production, and if you’re into backwoods horror, or anything THE STRANGERSish, then you’re probably be in for a treat.
Comic book scribe Philip Gelatt has signed up make his directorial debut (from his own script) with COUNTRY ROAD K, which has an apparent “twist” on the home invasion genre. In his own words, Gelatt describes the project like so: I’m fascinated by the macabre little stories that occur off the main roads of Middle America, and ‘County Road K’ is exactly that kind of tale: small, twisted, and unsettling.
Sounds promising to me, yo! I dig home invasion flicks because they’re just so raw and unsettling–plus, having someone break in to my house is a terrifying thought. So far, the flick is set to star Patrick Breen, Alexandra Chando, Nina Lisandrello, and Charlie Hewson, though not a whole lot more is known about the project. Nice. Keeping things somewhat secret for awhile–always a good move
Production is set to kick-off sometime next month in New Jersey, so stick around for more COUNTRY ROAD K as we hear it!
Alexandra Chando!
