Horrorfest gets Dread!

We have ourselves another newly selected genre offering for next year’s After Dark HORRORFEST! Just a couple of days ago, my man, Eric, told you that THE GRAVES was the first flick announced in the lineup. Now, today comes the news that Clive Barker’s DREAD has landed the second slot. I’ve been keeping an eye on this film for quite a while and really like the way it sounds. I’m glad it will be getting some more widespread recognition through HORRORFEST. Just take a look at the plot to see what I mean:

Quaid, a student of philosophy, who is obsessed by his own nightmare of an axe-murdering clown so he concocts a series of experiments to observe firsthand how other people react to the things that most horrify them. But while Quaid slowly unpeels the psyches of his imprisoned and tortured captives like a reeking onion, his own dread waits, just beyond his control.

And not only does DREAD sound cool, it looks pretty damn sweet too. I highly recommend you click on the preview I posted below to give this flick a nice once-over. It’s from writer/director Anthony DiBlasi and stars Shaun Evans, Jackson Rathbone, Hanne Steen, Jonathan Readwin, and Laura Donnelly. Look for it at next year’s HORRORFEST, Jan. 29th – Feb. 5th.
