We haven’t had a knock on Ti West’s HOUSE OF THE DEVIL in quite some time. Well, fortunately producer, Larry Fessenden, finally gave some insight as to what is up with this HOUSE. Apparently the flick is nearing completion. Have a look at the beans Fessenden spilled:
“We’re finishing [HOUSE OF THE DEVIL] up this week and trying to get the masters done. The normal course with these movies is to do festivals to inspire interest in the movies, so we’ll be premiering it in the next couple of months here and abroad.”
I guess that’s some pretty basic info, but at least we know now that a finished product will be available pretty soon at certain festivals. The plot sounds like some classic horror fun: In the 1980s, college student Samantha Hughes takes a strange babysitting job that coincides with a full lunar eclipse. She slowly realizes her clients harbor a terrifying secret; they plan to use her in a satanic ritual.
Plus, the cast is loaded with genre veterans: Dee Wallace, Tom Noonan, Greta Gerwig, Mary Woronov, Jocelin Donahue, Mary B. McCann, and AJ Bowen. Now we just have to see when an official release will arise.
