House of Gucci, first reactions, Lady Gaga, Jared Leto, Adam Driver

The first reactions to Ridley Scott’s House of Gucci have begun trickling out following the film’s world premiere in London. Those reactions are unfortunately a little mixed, with some saying that the film is an overlong melodrama, but there seems to be plenty of praise for the leading actors such as Lady Gaga, Adam Driver, and Jared Leto. However, for everyone calling upon those involved to win an Oscar are others who say that the performances are way over the top. Seems like we’ll have to check this one out for ourselves. Check out the House of Gucci reactions below!

These reactions make it seem like House of Gucci might be a bit of a mess, but at least it sounds like a highly entertaining mess. Toss in some scenery-chewing performances and you’ve got the makings of a good time at the theater.

Based on the novel The House of Gucci: A Sensational Story of Murder, Madness, Glamour, and Greed by Sara Gay Forden, House of Gucci is “inspired by the shocking true story of the family empire behind the Italian fashion house of Gucci. Spanning three decades of love, betrayal, decadence, revenge, and ultimately murder, we see what a name means, what it’s worth, and how far a family will go for control.” The film has quite a packed cast; in addition to Lady Gaga and Adam Driver, who star as Patrizia Reggiani and Maurizio Gucci, respectively, House of Gucci also stars Jared Leto, Jeremy Irons, Jack Huston, Salma Hayek, and Al Pacino.

House of Gucci is set to hit theaters on November 24th.
