Now here’s one very classic idea: a flick purposely made to look like a vintage horror film from the 1940’s. Plus, it’s centering on one of our original horror icons: The Wolf Man! Get ready for HOUSE OF THE WOLF MAN starring, get this, Ron Chaney, the grandson of Lon Chaney Jr., the original Wolf Man! This may sound too friggin’ whacky to be true, but apparently, it is! Which makes it awesome! That’s an actual pic up top from the flick! Here is how writer/director Eben McGarr (SICK GIRL) describes the plot:
“Dr. Bela Reinhardt (Chaney) has invited five people to his castle to see which of them will inherit his estate. He has arranged for a competition of sorts, the victor shall be determined through process of… elimination.”
McGarr is looking to use the original HOUSE OF FRANKENSTEIN and HOUSE OF DRACULA flicks as inspiration. He’s looking for his WOLF MAN to “slip seamlessly in with the other two movies, and with no gore, language, or sex, it should be for all members of the family.”
Well, I’m not sure how cool I am with no blood or boobs, but I do respect his enthusiasm to remain true to the era. I actually can’t wait to hear more about this one. For now, you can check out the MySpace page here.
