Last year, Howard Stern’s future with his SiriusXM show was up in the air as his contract went into negotiations. The shock jock would go as far as to pull a prank on his listeners with the host of Bravo’s Watch What Happens Live, Andy Cohen, taking over Stern’s channel. The prank would only last for about ten minutes, but it would lead to Stern’s public anecdotes about dealing with the station on his new contract. Late last year, Stern would finally sign a new deal for a three-year contract with SiriusXM.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Stern has added to his contract as he has now signed a new streaming deal with HBO Max, where he will be turning his SiriusXM shows into streaming episodes on the platform, along with some extras. He will also be cutting shows down from two shows to one live show a week, starting September 14. The HBO Max episodes are set to start streaming on September 17.

Howard Stern has been one of the most controversial – and revered – figures in the history of modern media. With a passion for the field as a child, Stern’s climb to the top of the radio world truly began in the ‘80s. And he did it off of his unique, button-pressing, FCC-clashing brand and humor: the boobs, the prank calls, the Wack Pack, all of it made Howard Stern one of the most recognizable figures in all of media. He would even tell his story in the biopic Private Parts, in which he starred as himself. And so as his markets grew and his written word topped the charts – but long before his first $500 million contract with Sirius – it was time for Stern to enter the movie business…with something a little more commercially viable than BUTT BONGO FIESTA.
