Hunt for Honest Abe begins! Casting Calls begin for Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter

Last Updated on July 23, 2021

So the question of the day arrives. Who is going to wear Abraham Lincoln’s size fourteen shoes? What’s Playing has just reported that casting calls for ABRAHAM LINCOLN: VAMPIRE HUNTER has begun. The film that’s being directed by Timur Bekmambetov will be on the lookout for the U.S’s tallest ex-president in history. Who’s up for the job?

Mindy Marin’s supervising the casting of the flick and has been given the duty to find “someone not necessarily famous, just appropriate,” a quote directly from the head honcho himself: Bekmambetov. The source at What’s Playing also confirms that Bekmambetov wants someone “as such, every gruff, 6-foot-tall hunk between the age of say, 20 to 39 are being considered.”

Spectacular news or something to be weary of? At least the intention is to retain the character and not blow off a performance for the sake of a famous actor. Honestly, is there anyone capable of this feat? If Lian Nesson was a bit younger…

Filming commences in New Orleans on March 1, 2011 but even with that sometime away, Bekmambetov and company are going to have to find their Abe soon. Down below is a character breakdown that Ms. Marin have released onto agencies earlier yesterday:

Abraham Lincoln (Lead)

Age : Late 20s to late 30s.
PLEASE NOTE THE SAME ACTOR WILL PLAY ABRAHAM AS HE AGES FROM 20 to 56.
At 20, not yet the iconic image we associate with our 16th President, this version of Abe is tall, boyish, and occasionally impulsive; a kind, intelligent, well-spoken and good-hearted man, if a bit awkward at social events and around the ladies. He’s also an extremely skilled fighter. Abe works as a shopkeeper, lawyer and burgeoning political figure by day. He woos Mary Todd and debates Stephen Douglas, preparing for an eventual run for the Presidency. Seen also in middle age, extremely tall with a lined face and a trademark beard and stovepipe hat, he is a thoughtful, extraordinary orator. Honest Abe wins the White House in the midst of growing strife between the North and South. Despite his advanced age, Mr. Lincoln remains an innovative and fearsome fighter…
PLEASE ONLY SUBMIT ACTORS OVER 6 FEET TALL

Not too shabby eh? We’ll send you the scoop once we get em. Until then stick around and drop a comment down below!
