I Am Legends?

Interesting little article over at the LA Times (in between stories about the boneheads behind RENO 911, and the most disgusting-looking movie to come out in years, BRATZ): Mark Protosevich, the scribe who has spent about ten years writing the screen adaptation of I AM LEGEND (when he wasn’t doing that he was knocking out POSEIDON) says he’s already pitched the idea for a sequel to the Richard Matheson-conjured, Francis Lawrence-directed, Will Smith-starring thriller, due this December.

The details of the story aren’t revealed, nor is how serious the talks really are – but I’m sure it wouldn’t surprise any of us if a) Will Smith’s character lives to see another day at the end of I.A.L. and b) the suits at Warner Bros. deliriously agree to a sequel involving ANYTHING AT ALL should the movie make more than, say, $40 mil opening weekend (which it probably will).
