Christmas is coming early this year, as writer/director Josh Lobo's Christmas-set horror film I TRAPPED THE DEVIL is getting a release courtesy of IFC Midnight later this month. Last week we shared a look at the film's poster, and today we have the trailer embedded below.

Starring AJ Bowen, Susan Burke, Scott Poythress, Jocelin Donahue, and Chris Sullivan, I TRAPPED THE DEVIL has the following synopsis:

Christmas is supposed to be a time for peace and joyful family reunions. But when Matt (Bowen) and his wife Karen (Burke) show up unannounced at the home of his estranged brother Steve (Poythress) to celebrate the holidays, they are instead greeted with a horrifying surprise: trapped in the basement is a man. But not just any man. Steve believes that his hostage is none other than the devil himself. As shock and skepticism turn to fear and paranoia, Matt and Karen find themselves facing a terrifying quandary: is Steve dangerously unhinged? Or could the mysterious stranger really be evil incarnate? Either way, the stage is set for a true Christmas from hell.

Judging by the trailer, the situation does become quite unpleasant for everyone involved. I tend to wait until December to watch movies that are Christmas related, so I wish this movie had been available to watch four months ago, but there are exceptions to the rule. I might not wait another eight months to watch I TRAPPED THE DEVIL.

IFC Midnight will be releasing I TRAPPED THE DEVIL in theatres and on VOD on April 26th, just three weeks from today.
