IFC Midnight is bringing Abner Pastoll’s Road Games to North America

A new suspense thriller entitled ROAD GAMES is on the way, but if that title sounds familiar to you and you're anti-remake, don't be discouraged. This is not a remake of Richard Franklin's awesome 1981 Australian film ROAD GAMES, it just happens to have the same title.

This ROAD GAMES is a UK/France co-production written and directed by Abner Pastoll. The plot:

The sun drenched days of summer turn dark and ominous for hitchhiking duo Jack and Véronique when they become inexplicably entangled with a mysterious married couple and a local road kill collector in rural France.

Andrew Simpson, Joséphine de La Baume, Frédéric Pierrot,  and genre icon Barbara Crampton star in the film, which IFC Midnight has acquired the North American distribution rights to. The company hasn't yet revealed their release plans, but we'll let you know when they do.

The story sounds interesting and right up my alley, plus I've been a fan of Crampton's for decades, so ROAD GAMES is definitely one that I'll be checking out.

A simple, moody teaser trailer for the film can be viewed right here:
