And the Bram Stoker estate continues to collect…

Word out of Screen Daily is that Canadian director Jim Donovan is set to helm FANGS OF WAR, another in the long list of Bram Stoker adaptations. This time however, Donovan is going global for his war torn vampire mash-up being described as INGLOURIOUS BASTERDS meets DRACULA. If that sounds like your flavor of herb, peep an official release from The Nakamura Group:

Set in 1944, Nazi occupied Transylvania, the film is a re-imaging of Bram Stoker’s classic where “Inglorious Basterds meets Dracula”. Scheduled to lens in Europe and China, the project will be helmed by DGC and Genie Award nominated director Jim Donovan (3 Saison, Pure), co-starring Celina Jade (The Man With The Iron Fist, Legendary Assassin) and produced by Ken Nakamura and Fang Yi Ning. International sales and executive producing duties will be handled by Michael Cowan’s Stealth Media Group (London).

Nice, a Eruopean/Chinese expanse…how elegant. It’s always interesting to set a supernatural story during wartime, and this one certainly sounds like it’ll be no exception. I’m into it, are you?

Donovan, primarily a TV director, did helm PROVOCATEUR in 1998 and the 2005 film PURE. Will FANGS OF WAR be a third time charm?
