International trailer for Chan-wook Park’s Stoker with Nicole Kidman and Mia Wasikowska is seductively cool

The new international trailer for Chan-wook Park’s STOKER, starring Nicole Kidman, Mia Wasakowska, and Matthew Goode has arrived and takes a less creepy and more seductive approach than the U.S. version.  Although I was sold on the prior trailer, this one is better chopped and uses Death in Vegas’ song “Dirge” to its full potential.  It’s always cool to see a happy marriage of images and music and I think this is a great example.

Have a look:

I’m excited and curious to see this more so for Park’s involvement than anything else, as it’s always a gamble when a filmmaker makes the jump into Hollywood features. I think he’ll be a good fit judging by the trailer, but you just never know.  Kidman is still a stunner in my opinion and can act her ass off, Wasikowska has got the not-so-innocent look down pat, and Goode looks like a perfectly smooth psychopath.  I love these hot mess family stories.  Reminds me of the holidays, just with less murder.

STOKER is slated to be released in 2013.
