INT: Ben Affleck

JoBloJoBlo

Yeah, Ben has been the critics punching bag for a long time. He’s done some bad films, but come on, CHASING AMY was great and he was cool in DAZED AND CONFUSED. And should I say it??? PHANTOMS was the bomb! (I actually did like that movie) But recently, he won a few critical raves for his performance as George Reeves in HOLLYWOODLAND. And now, he is offering up his feature film directorial debut with a movie about child abduction, GONE BABY GONE.

Talking to him, I realized what I had heard oftentimes, and that is, he is a very smart individual. So we talked about choosing this particular film to direct. It’s not surprising that he took on a riskier project when he could have just done a romantic comedy or some kind of sappy love story. But he took on a film that deals with morality and whether doing the right thing… is the right thing to do. It was a pleasure talking with him and I look forward to seeing where he takes this new phase in his career. Check out GONE BABY GONE when it opens this Friday at a theatre near you.
